1A couple of $2,000 wagers were successful during the week but more about them in the largest winning return section.  A TAB punter placed a wager of $1,750 on Shadesoff to win the fifth event at Wagga last Saturday night at $2.05.  Driven by Tom Gilligan, the mare led throughout to score and the punter won $1,837.50.

The best return of the week was for the punter who placed $2,000 on Walkabout Creek to win at Menangle on Tuesday afternoon at $6.00.  The son of Somebeachsomewhere driven by Robbie Morris scorched early running a 26.2 first quarter before holding onto win by two metres.

The largest losing bet of the week was placed on Frith’s little brother Stening at Wagga on Saturday night.  A bet of $3,400 at $1.60 was placed and after midrace pressure was pipped on the post by East Emperor with the official margin being declared a half-head.

A $500 bet on Flying Pegasus at Penrith last Thursday at $6.50 missed when the Ian Wilson trained gelding could only manage third behind the short priced favourite Mile High Anvil.  Flying Pegasus finished stoutly but was unable to reel the leader in.
