EXCEPTIONALLY-BRED filly Keep Rockin faces a tough task in her bid to have her name listed along with her famous mum on a Group One honour roll on Saturday night.

Thanks to her heat victory at Tabcorp Park Menangle last week Keep Rockin will contest the $350,550 Australian Pacing Gold Final Albion Park.

By Rock N Roll Heaven, Keep Rockin is from former outstanding filly Kept For Pleasure which won the 2007 APG Final at Albion Park.

Keep Rockin is prepared by Michael Doltoff who trained Kept For Pleasure to secure the Final, with the horseman hoping the venue will act as an omen.

“Her mum won the APG so hopefully this filly can do it too,” Doltoff said. “She’s got her share of ability, but has a long way to go before she can be compared to her mother.

“A win in the Final will certainly move her closer.

“Kept For Pleasure won the Final at Albion Park which could be a good sign for her daughter.”

To Doltoff’s dismay Keep Rockin has drawn the outside of the front, which has seen the two-year-old rated as a $17 chance with TAB Fixed Odds.

“The draw has made it very difficult on her,” Doltoff said. “She is going to need plenty of luck from there.

“That said, she is in perfect condition and ready to run a big race.

“She’s improved in her work since her heat and only needs a touch of luck to go her way to be right in the finish.”

Selecting Pelosi as the one to beat, Doltoff believes Sheza Mamacita would also be a worthy winner.

Sheza Mamacita is from 2003 APG Fillies’ Final winner Self Denial, which was bred by Sloys Company – the breeders of Keep Rockin.

Boasting three wins from four starts, including her heat, Pelosi is the $1.90 TAB Fixed Odds favourite from barrier two.

Third in her heat, Sheza Mamacita wil come from gate 10, which has her listed at $13.

“Pelosi was extremely impressive in her heat and is the one to beat from the draw,” Doltoff said. “Self Denial was a good filly and to see Sheza Mamacita win for the breeders would be good.

“Perhaps a quinella for them with Keep Rockin leading home Self Denial can be the result.”
