The Western Australian Standardbred Breeders Association is conducting our annual Stallion Service Tender in conjunction with Alabar Bloodstock (Vic and NZ), Allwood Stud Farm (WA), Cobbitty Equine Farm (NSW), KTC Bloodstock, Northern Rivers Equine (Vic), Soho Standardbreds (Vic), Westbred Pacing (WA) and Woodlands Stud (Vic and NZ).
Another great opportunity for Australian and NZ breeders to get an exceptionally well credentialed stallion at a reduced price. Tender is for the 2021/22 season. The 8 incredible stallions available are:
- Art Major USA 1:48.8 – US$2,727,224. 3YO Pacing Colt of the Year, Aged Pacer of the Year. One of the greatest sires in the world today. Progeny have won nearly $200 million. Currently the leading sire of 2yos in the US with his first crop. Standing in NZ.
- Fly Like An Eagle 1:53.9 – $756,178. By mighty Mach Three CA. Dam a half sister to Anvil Vance. Family of Chokin, Changeover etc. NZ 2YO of the Year and four-time Group 1 winner of races from 1600m to 3000m incl. Breeders Crown, Harness Jewels, New Zealand Derby. - Mel Mara USA 1:47 – US$1,028,350. By Lis Mara, the fastest and richest son of speed champion Cambest (1:46.1 World Record 27 yrs ago). Dam-sire and Grand-dam sire were the fastest of their time. Won 28 races, champion performer in his own right, repeat defeats of Always B Miki, Sweet Lou, McWicked etc. Same family as No Nukes and Rock N Roll Heaven. Third second season at stud. - Soho Tribeca 1:53.8 – $1,103,854. Outstanding son of super sire American Ideal USA. Art Major dam was the Australian Broodmare of the Year and dam of 6 in 1:55 incl. 3 Group 1 winners. Multiple Group 1 winner incl. Golden Nugget. Beat everyone but Lazarus in Hunter Cup and just beaten into 3rd in Miracle Mile in 1:46.9. Multiple Inter Dominion Heat winner with wins against Lazarus, Tiger Tara, Chicago Bull, Lennytheshark etc. Second season at stud. Standing in Vic.
- Ultimate Sniper NZ 1:52.6 $842,793 Champion racehorse and Inter Dominion winner, unbeaten in 2019 series. Multiple Group 1 winner, NZ 3YO and 4YO Pacer of the Year, Reigning NZ Horse of the Year,. Career tally of 14 wins from 20 starts incl 8 from 9 at 3. Son of World champion racehorse and sire Bettor’s Delight. Dam has produced 3 multiple Group 1 winners. First season at stud. The relevant state Breeding Scheme applies to each stallion.
Funds raised from the Stallion Tender go towards stakes, subsidies and other incentives, including rehoming. WASBA strongly supports rehoming initiatives and provides funds annually for this purpose.
