2Pixies Parlour was the filly that broke the Steve Turnbull hoodoo at the Bathurst two year old carnival.  Despite having won countless feature races including the Inter Dominion and Miracle Mile with Smooth Satin, the multiple premiership winner had never won a Bathurst Gold Crown or Tiara until 2015 and off the back of that performance could Pixies Parlour be NSW 2yo filly of the year?

Pixies Parlour won the first Gold Tiara on the new Bathurst track and recorded two other victories during the season taking her career stakes earnings to $62,575.  Unfortunately for connections she never regained the form she showed during the Bathurst carnival and was placed twice in her subsequent four starts.

Importantly Pixies Parlour led home three other fillies in the Gold Tiara that have been nominated for NSW 2yo filly of the year.

Other nominations include:

Abettorrose – Won the Pink Bonnet at Tabcorp Park Menangle and competed in some quality races throughout the season.

Hot Shot Woman – Raced 14 times throughout the season and despite winning only two races she was placed in a further nine including three at group one level and won more than $168,000.

Soho Madeline – Spent time in two different stables during the season but raced well during her stint in NSW.  Won three races including a heat of the Bathurst Gold Tiara.

Three Squared – Boom filly in the early part of the season that recorded a slick 1:55.9 victory on debut.  Raced in a number of feature events during the season and banked more than $60,000.

The best 2yo filly in NSW will be announced at the HRNSW Awards Night at Doltone House, Darling Harbour on Saturday September 19th.  For tickets call Nancy O’Grady on 9722 6600.
