EVEN without knowing his draw, boom New Zealand youngster Vincent is considered close to a certainty in Saturday night’s New South Wales Derby at Tabcorp Park Menangle.

One of the most exciting pacers to come from the Shaky Isles, Vincent registered an effortless heat win to stretch his record to eight wins and a second from 10 starts.

The three-year-old’s missed placing was a result of a busted wheel after travelling 500 metres in the Victoria Derby last month.

While we all know there is no such thing as a certainty in racing, there is one scenario involving Vincent which is certain to occur during the weekend.

A 2015 Australian Pacing Gold graduate, Vincent’s half-sister will be auctioned as part of APG’s Sydney Sale on Sunday and thanks to the colt’s latest win, the attention in the filly is certain to grow.

By successful stallion Sportswriter, the yearling is from former outstanding pacer and broodmare gem, Kept For Pleasure.

A daughter of Safely Kept, Kept For Pleasure boasts three winners from four starters, including My Mackenzie, which has eight wins and seven seconds from 19 starts

Also an APG graduate, Kept For Pleasure annexed the 2007 Final at Albion Park, while her latest offering will enter the sales ring as Lot 360.
