Consistent 6-year-old Mister Versace is shaping up as a major chance in the ‘Steelo ‘s Bistro At Gloucester Park Pace’ from barrier 1 on Friday night for trainer Annie Belton. The likely short priced favourite, a winner 7 starts ago from the same distance and barrier draw will be driven by Chris Voak and he has a great rapport with the son of Bettor Delight winning 3 previous races on him.
Mister Versace who was placed two starts ago has an abundance of early gate speed and although the last win was from a sit sprint capacity Voak may use his versatility to go for an all the way victory. A career best mile rate of 1.56.1 should see this Byford trained pacer go the distance on Friday night for the popular Belton family.
One of the main dangers Arthur Lowe lines up behind Mister Versace and the last start winner is a good drive for in form Jocelyn Young in a race where there is a lot of exposed form.
