Harness Racing Victoria (HRV) was saddened to hear of the passing of long-time industry servant Jim Roberts, aged 88.
Mr Roberts was president of the Nyah club for 20 years between 1971 and 1991 and spent four years as a HRV Board Member in the 90s.
A recipient of HRV’s Distinguished Service Medal, Mr Roberts was a stalwart of harness racing in the Swan Hill and Nyah area and won his hometown Nyah Cup with Huon Eddy in 1973.
Swan Hill’s annual feature race for trotters is named in Mr Roberts’ honour.
