The trots industry was saddened to hear of the passing of trainer James (Jim) Parnell, aged 80, on Sunday morning while surrounded by his family.
He had trained about 100 winners starting from the early 1980s in Albury and finished training in 2010.
He had a few good horses over the year’s including Gav’s Glory, Pakahue Prince, Fancy A Unicorn and Brother Francis, who was his last winner as a trainer.
His grandson, Thomas Parnell, is a well-known trainer in the industry having taken over the training in 2011.
