One of harness racing’s great competitors from a golden era Alan Sword passed away earlier this week.
Alan and father Andy who both hailed from the Daylesford District were revered whenever one of their team went to the races, as usually after being well supported, they were successful.
Winners to come from the stable were : The Snipe (1969 McNamara Trotters Cup), Silent Chapel, Sunny Hanover, Miss Glenny, Heroic Step and Amelia Hanover.
HRV extend sympathy to the Sword family.
Alan’s funeral will be held at the Verey Chapel, Daylesford this Friday at 11-00am
