Two wins in five days has the Raceapacer team rocking.
Rockin Shiraz, a three-year-old pacer-turned-trotter, scored a breathtaking win at Tabcorp Park Melton today for trainer-driver David Miles.
The victory added to the jubilation of Sunday’s Raceapacer success, which came via impressive five-year-old Stone Of Destiny for trainer Jayne Davies and driver Chris Alford at Warragul on Cup Day.
“We’ve got something (available) to suit every budget at the moment and the team’s really enjoying the ride,” Raceapacer manager Mark Hoare said.
“It continues tomorrow night with a runner at Kilmore, Emerald Castle, who should go well, and then Stone Of Destiny is in again on Monday.
“The group of owners we have involved at the moment are really passionate. That comes across with some of them on social media. It’s great to see.”
Among the ownership of Stone Of Destiny are Collingwood coach Nathan Buckley and captain Scott Pendlebury.
Rockin Shiraz qualified as a pacer, but astute horseman Miles elected to switch gait with the horse and the decision is paying dividends.
Meanwhile, the AFL trots ownership theme continued today at Melton with Adelaide Crows star Josh Jenkins in the ownership of three-year-old Sammy Strikes, who won Race 5 for trainer-driver Michael Stanley.
“Sammy storms down the outside! We’re away! Onwards & upwards,” Jenkins tweeted.
