The 3yr-old trotting filly Danielle Amore rewarded her Wellington owner-breeder Reg Caldow with a win when he made the trip from Wellington to see her race at Forbury Park (Dunedin) on Thursday night.

Danielle Amore, who finished second in her other start, is trained at Oamaru by Phil Williamson. He developed Zhenya for Reg and Barbara Caldow. Zhenya was transferred to the Victoria stable of Craig Demmler and Jodi Quinlan last July after winning five races. Zhenya has added another four wins to her tally.

Danielle Amore is by Love You and the first foal of Danielle Daunou, a Melbourne yearling sale purchase by Reg Caldow.

“ She (Danielle Daunou) is very well bred and Danielle Amore is a three quarter sister to a champion trotter Royal Dream (2013 Prix d’Amerique in Paris),’’ said Caldow. Danielle Amore is the first foal of Danielle Daunou (by Yankee Paco), who was put into training in New Zealand but did not race.

Baileys Rock, a $60,000 purchase, at the 2015 NZ Premier Yearling Sale, won at his first start. The gelded son of Bettor’s Delight and Baileys Pearl is raced by Jim and Susan Wakefield, of Christchurch and trained by Cran Dalgety.

Baileys Rock, bred by A J Grant, is the third foal of Baileys Pearl and a brother to Baileys Gold, who has won nine races in Western Australia. She took a mile record of 1.54.7 as a 3yr-old at Bunbury last year. Baileys Pearl (by In The Pocket) won two races when trained by Dean Taylor.

The 11yr-old Motu Speedy Star responded to racing free legged with his 12th win. “He has gone great since we took the hopples off him (four starts earlier),’’ said Eion Latimer, his Oamaru trainer. Motu Speedy Star was having his 190th start. Eight of his wins including the 2011 Waimate Cup and five at Forbury Park have been for Latimer, who took over the training of the Village Jasper gelding as a 7yr-old.

Motu Speedy Star won four races when trained by Ian Cameron for Opawa Racing Ltd but he had been off the winning list for 20 months before his Waimate win. He began racing as a 3yr-old and did not clear maiden ranks until his 27th start.

My Cash continued the good innings of the Prospero No 1 Syndicate when he led over the last 1000m of the Mazda CX5 Mobile Pace. The syndicate had won a double at Forbury Park the previous week with Brunello and Illegal Immigrant.

The three horses are trained by Ken Barron with stable reinsman Blair Orange the driver. Barron purchased the trio, along with Amazon Lily (three wins), for the syndicate at the 2014 premier sale.
