The 2015 Brisbane winter carnival has come and gone for another season.
But the Albion Park Harness Racing Club will play host to another strong program this Saturday night with a nine race program slated.
The $20,000 Rising Stars Championship is the highlight while the Bob Blumke Cup has also attracted a solid field which features several in-form pacers.
Gambling giant UBET will offer a raft of jackpots including a $40,000 trifecta jackpot on the opening race, the Knudsen’s Betta Home Living Virginia Pace which will be run over 2138m.
And Trot Tips is keen to get involved.
“This is a strong metro card with great depth in most races including the opening race. This should prove to be a highly competitive affair and with this solid starting pool for the trifecta, this pool should swell quickly and it looks a good race to play.” Trot Tips Mick Polster said.
Leading horseman Grant Dixon is well represented in the opening event with three runners engaged including last start winner A Passion For Aces plus Tightrope and Franco Revel while emerging trainer Chantal Turpin has a dual pronged attack with in-form pair Mabrook and Overlap engaged.
“I thought A Passion For Aces was solid winning last start at this track and trip and although this race boasts more depth, I think he’s the horse to beat because he has options from his ideal draw because he can attempt to go all the way or be driven with cover, either scenario makes strong appeal.
“Tightrope is a chance of testing A Passion For Aces early for the lead and this horse goes best when he finds the lead in his races so I’m giving him a chance if that scenario plays out. Both Mabrook and Overlap have good chances and continue to race in good form while Jackaroo Bromac has a winning chance also despite the fact he starts from the second-line.
“Minor place chances include Mister Chow, Corey ODonohue, Uncle Lile and Packnplenty. I will work around these runners in different combinations and for varying amounts.”
UBET also have a guaranteed $25,000 Quadrella pool which will be staged on races 2, 3, 4 & 5 and a $5000 First 4 jackpot is programmed for race three.
