Having recently reached 400 wins as a trainer, Menangle horseman Rickie Alchin has parted with the horse that has provided him with many of those victories.
Last week Alchin announced the retirement of his Group 1-winning trotter Tough Monarch, who holds the record of the horse with the most wins at Menangle.
Tough Monarch bowed out of racing aged 11, with a record of 36 wins and 18 placings in 107 starts and prizemoney of $593,805 – with 27 of those wins at Menangle.
Alchin will produce another one of his trotters at Menangle today in Watts Up Partytime. The NSW Two-Year-Old Trotter of the Year will have his first start for the season having ended last term campaigning in Victoria.
Alchin will also race his pacer Freddy Singh in race eight today.
