As a son of Shes An Image, Hes A Hammer came with a hefty price tag as a yearling, being picked up by owner Domenic Martello for $55,000 at the 2020 Australasian Premier Trotting Sale.
Shes An Image, of course, had been a star on the track, winning 20 races including the Victoria and NSW Oaks and the Vicbred 2YO Final for $233,824 in earnings.
And at stud, she has left winners in Evas Image and Builder Bob with her first two foals.
Hes A Hammer began his career at the end of the two-year-old season owing to a paddock injury.
But the Andover Hall colt is certainly making up for lost time as a three-year-old, winning twice with a second from four starts.
