The Albion Park Harness Racing Club will stage an outstanding ten race program which features four Group One events including the $150,000 Queensland Derby, the $125,000 UBET Blacks A Fake and the $100,000 QBRED Triad Finals for two-year-olds.
An amazing array of talent has been assembled, both human and equine.
The metropolitan club is planning a huge night of entertainment to cater for a large crowd that is expected.
Gambling giant UBET are offering several jackpots including a guaranteed $30,000 trifecta pool which will be held on the opening race.
And Trot Tips is keen to assist.
“The carnival has been outstanding; the racing has been so competitive with so many exciting results and this weekend will be no different with so many excellent races scheduled. I’m really looking forward to the Queensland Derby while the arrival of the Emma Stewart with her stable stars Philadelphia Man and Heavens Trend certainly adds plenty of intrigue.” Trot Tips Mick Polster said.
The opening race on the program caters for several in-form pacers including classy mare Millwood Liberty who raced in last week’s Fleur De Lil Ladyship Stakes when a brave third to outstanding mare Forever Gold in fast time.
Last start winners include the ideally drawn Hugh Hefner, Mister Chow and Uncle Lile, both of which are trained in Bathurst.
“It’s a strong race with a number of chances but I’m keen on the chances of the Shane Tritton prepared Fearless Leader, he looks extremely well placed with a concession claim for Paul Diebert and faces a significant class drop. He’s a go forward type that looks likely of finding the lead from his favourable draw; he can run fast time and will prove hard to catch.
“Hugh Hefner has looked very sharp winning his past two starts and he’s a versatile pacer, he possesses good gate speed and he’s equally effective coming from behind. He’s likely to take the trail behind Fearless Leader and prove very hard to beat via the passing lane.
“Other strong hopes include Uncle Lile, Millwood Liberty and Five Card Draw all having winning claims too but will need some luck from their draws. I will work around these runners in different combinations and for varying amounts.”
UBET also have an $8000 Quadrella jackpot which will be staged on races 2, 3, 4 & 5.
A $5000 First 4 is slated for race three while $2000 First 4 jackpots will be held on races 4, 5, 6, 7 & 8.
