8Emma Hamblin has issued a challenge to champion reinswoman Kerryn Manning in the Teal Pants Championship after landing a winning treble at Mildura on Wednesday night.

Hamblin became the punter’s pal when she saluted on three short-priced favorites, Shadow Spar, Monumental and Murranji Track on the eight-race program.

Hamblin’s treble elevated her into second place (on seven wins) behind Manning who heads the Championship on 14 wins.

Kate Gath and Ellen Tormey share equal third place on five wins apiece with Victorian reinswomen chalking up a tally of 50 wins to as of February 24.

The number of wins highlights the key role reinswomen play in Victorian trots with the girls averaging two wins per day since the Championship began on February 1.

The Teal Pants Championship has so far raised $20,000 for the Womens Cancer Foundation- Ovarian Cancer Fund with another 16 days of the series remaining.
