A big weekend of harness racing awaits Tasmanian harness racing fans with two Group 2 races and five $12,000 races in Launceston this Sunday night.
Last week heats of the three-year-old sires’ stakes series, the Bandbox, were staged with Machbev (pictured) and Blame It On Me winning the two heats.
Kohanah bounced back into the winners list in his heat of the Globe Derby Stakes for the three-year-old colts and geldings, with Tasmanian Derby winner Micton Mouse keeping his unbeaten record in the state intact in the second heat.
The Stars
Call Me Hector – bounced back into the winner’s list with a dominant win in the free-for-all. He was driven by Troy McDonald and his trainer Matthew Cooper indicated on social media that a trip across Bass Strait is on the cards for the Hobart and Launceston track record holder.

Scotlynn Beach – recorded his first win at his third start since arriving in the state, the win was the first at a TAB meeting for reinsman Malcom Jones.
Machbev – despite the slow early sectionals, the Kate MacLeod filly came from last to score in the first heat of the Bandbox.

FORMPLUS Black Book
Kabibi – has big shoes to fill being a full sister to dual Inter Dominion winner Beautide, this filly is lightly raced and has been placed in her last two efforts, the most recent on Sunday night behind Blame It On Me and Better Amour in a heat of the Bandbox. She has finished off well her last two outings. This Sunday she bumps into some smart ones in the Group 2 Bandbox but keep an eye on her in a maiden event in the not too distant future.
