Hobart kicked off the weekend racing last week with Ray Pullen ending the night with a double in the final two races.
On Saturday King Island was the venue where Karalta Kruise registered back-to-back wins.
Launceston was the venue on Sunday where two heats of the Tassie Golden Apple were held as was the final three heats of the Youngbloods Challenge.
This week Burnie host a six-race card on Friday night, while Launceston has the Group 3 Tassie Golden Apple on Saturday night.
The Stars
Sam Clotworthy – the former Kiwi took out the state’s premier junior driver series, the Youngbloods Challenge, with a driving double in Launceston on Sunday night.
The Shallows – stamped himself as a contender for Saturday night’s Tassie Golden Apple with a dominant win over Ignatius in the opening heat of the series.
Ryley Major – bounced back into the winner’s list at his third run back from a break when scoring in heat two of the Tassie Golden Apple.
Watchmylips – the talented three-year-old registered his fifth career win at start nine with a dominant 11-metre win in Hobart on Friday night.
Troy McDonald and Ray Pullen – continued their good form with doubles in Hobart on Friday.

Launceston – Sunday afternoon
The trials were held before Sunday’s meeting where Jo Dina for Ben Yole and Sam Clotworthy won the only mobile trial that was run in a mile rate of 2m 2.4s.
The three-year-old Bettors Delight filly pulled herself to lead and hit the line nicely to score by 1.8 metres over Brian Who.
Two standing start trials were held, and they were taken out by the Ben Yole-trained duo Postal Run (2m 8.1s) and Lifes A Jungle (2m 5.8s).
Hobart – Monday evening
The Ben Yole-trained Hez Razor Sharp recorded the quickest mile rate of the session when recording a mile rate of 2m 1.2s in a standing start trial.
Driver Ricky Duggan got the seven-year-old gelding away safely to settle last of the three-horse field, with a solid tempo set in the lead by Finn Mac Kee. Duggan used the sprint lane late to score by a neck over Hez Razor Sharp.
Other winners included Truscott Hall (2m 7.8s), Gone and Forgotten (2m 4.3s), while
Eye See Double (2m 2.5s) won the only mobile trial of the night.
Week Ahead
On Friday the action heads to Burnie with a six-race card commencing at 17:35.
Standing start specialist, Artyboy Glenwood will be chasing back-to-back wins in race two on the card.
The meeting will be televised on Sky Racing 2 and streamed on TasracingTV.
On Saturday night the Group 3 Faithful Park Stud Tassie Golden Apple headlines a nine-race card.
Defending champion Ryley Major shares the 30-metre handicap with Ignatius and Call Me Hector in the 2200-metre event.
