Talented young reinsman Zac Phillips will be hoping for a magical night at Tabcorp Park Melton on Saturday, which could set up the scaffolding for an Inter Dominion campaign.
The 22-year-old is looking to snare a double as he pilots Magical Marn in the My Lightning Blue Free For All (1720m, MO or better) and in-form Sonya Smith-trained gelding Vasari in the DNR Logistic Pace (2240m MO only).
Phillips said the Adam Kelly-trained Magical Marn had gone “from strength to strength” this year before a slightly disappointing last start at Tabcorp Park Melton.
