Brighton trainer Bianca Heenan hopes her good form can continue when she takes two runners to Launceston on Friday night, fresh off a training double in Hobart last Monday.
Sunrose Master, who was one of her winners on Monday, and will be out to complete a winning hat-trick on Friday when the Vintage Master gelding lines up in the McGrath Foundation Pacing For Pink Stakes.
The winner of 10 races has only been in the Heenan stable for five starts after being recommended by the pacer’s former driver in Victoria.
“Aussie Mifsud contacted us and said he would suit Tassie racing, which he sure has so far,” said Heenan.
“He is racing fantastic, he is honest and a very good trier that’s racing full of confidence,” added Heenan.
Sunrose Master’s last two wins have been in different circumstances.
In his win in Hobart on 15 April, he worked forward to find the lead, with the pacer doing some mid-race work when winning in Hobart on Monday.
Heenan is leaving the tactics from the outside of the front-row draw to reinsman Mitch Ford.
“From the draw, it’s all in Mitchell’s hands. I have done the hard yards getting the horse ready,” said the trainer.
The Heenan stable is also represented in the night’s final race with Grizzly Montana, who has drawn wide on the second row, with the Lanercost gelding winning two of his last five starts.
“Grizzly is turning into a super consistent horse, his last couple have been bad draws, but he gives his all and is a horse in the zone at the moment,” the trainer said.
The eight-race Launceston card commences at 18:01.
