The Group 3 Tailamade Lombo is this Friday night’s feature race at Tabcorp Park Melton and it sees the return of the Ruth Shinn trained Steam Washed.
A dual Group 1 winner, Steam Washed has a class edge on her rivals.
But she also has a back line draw, so she won’t be getting it all her own way.
Noel Shinn, husband of Ruth, is very happy with where the mighty mare is at.
“She is coming along good,” he said.
“She has had a couple of trials and gone well. She will need the run but is pretty forward.”
Steam Washed is drawn to follow out a good beginner in Beach Shack and Shinn said the instructions to son Chris will be to push through early and try and get as close to the lead as possible.
“We hope he can push through early if we can. I hope we can land close enough but if she has got to go and make a move well so be it as she is fit enough anyway.”
Team Shinn also has Maken Art Magic engaged in race two and Shinn is bullish about his chances
“If he crosses to the lead he’ll win. He is a good, tough horse that just lacks a little bit of speed. It’s the best draw he has had for some time so if everything goes right he should win.”
