Young reinsman Jack Buckman is searching for his first winner at Bathurst tonight.
The 16-year-old driver has had 13 drives and will sport the colours of one of the region’s top conditioners Bernie Hewitt.
The Georges Plains mentor is fresh from achieving another career highlight, training a Group 1 double on Bathurst’s Gold Crown night last Friday.
Hewitt trained the $100,000 Gold Chalice winner Ripp who was driven by his son Doug Hewitt and in turn, gave the driver his first Group 1 success.
It was only 30 minutes later, Hewitt trained another Group 1 winner when Jewel Melody won the $110,000 Gold Tiara whom he drove himself.
“We’ve won a few Group 1s over the years but to get two Group 1s on the same night is great,” said Hewitt.
The iForm best bets for today:
Bathurst best bet
Race 2: Alta Classic (1)
No luck two starts back and then found a hot race last time. Draws to lead and win.
Bathurst next best
Race 1: A Dusty Dance (10)
Comes out of a hot race and her form prior reads well. Not the best draw but that could get us an each way price.

Race 6: 4,7,5,3
