Shards Halo is a standout in race 8, the Ricoh Mobile Pace at Forbury Park on Thursday night.

She has blossomed since joining the  Temuka stable of Brent White. Shards Halo overcame a second line draw to win by three lengths over 2200m(mobile) at Forbury Park last week. It was her second win in six starts for White since February.

She has also collected two minor placings. Shards Halo had previously had three minor placings in 16 starts. Brad Wiliamson drove Shards Halo in the race for junior drivers last week which was penalty free. Stephen McNally, stable driver for White, is back in the sulky. He drove Shards Halo to win on grass at Gore in March.

Royal Kenny is primed to resume on a winning note in race 7, The Park Function and Events Centre Trot. The Phil Williamson-trained mare won a trial at Oamaru  on May 18. Royal Kenny won first up by three and a half lengths at Omakau in January. She was put aside at the end of February after a second in three further starts.

Phil takes the reins, a race occurence, with his sons, Brad, Matthew and Nathan having other committments.

The stable has Ruby’s Jewel a top chance in race 5, the Pryde’s Easifeed Handicap Trot. Ruby’s Jewel was a six length winner at Forbury Park two starts back before finishing sixth at Addington. Feather Boyz and The Jinja Ninja, both last start winners at Forbury Park are among the rivals for Ruby’s Jewel.

The Jinja Ninja set a dawdling pace to succeed last week. Feather Boyz  is “looking really good” according to trainer Eian Lamb. John Dunn is the replacement driver for Stevie Golding, who is not attending the meeting.
