IN WHAT was a great result for Australian Pacing Gold, four members of the ‘family’ were triumphant at Tabcorp Park Melton yesterday.
Led by Our Little General, the APG eligible performers captured three Group Ones and a Group Two.
Proving too good in a Breeders’ Crown Final, Our Little General became just the third colt/gelding to successfully defend the title he won the previous year.
In between his Crown wins, the son of Mach Three has also captured the Victoria Derby!
A $38,000 Melbourne purchase, Our Little General boasts earnings of $490,285 as a result of 13 wins and 10 placings from 27 starts.
An Emma Stewart-trained stablemate of Our Little General, Nostra Villa continued her sensational debut season in the Two-Year-Old Fillies’ Final.
Stretching her record to eight wins from nine starts, Nostra Villa has bankrolled $269,590 as a $24,000 APG Melbourne purchase.
Reigning Victorian Three-Year-Old of the Year Dont Hold Back also outclassed his rivals in the Four-Year-Old Breeders’ Crown Championship.
Bought for $15,000, Dont Hold Back has built a record of 12 wins and seven placings from 32 starts for earnings of $213,435.
Wonderful three-year-old Petacular annexed her Breeders’ Crown division to extend her marvellous Group One record.
Petacular has contested seven top-shelf events for two wins and five placings, including a third in the APG Final.
Also on the card, Heavens Trend captured her Final, with the talented mare having a sister in next season’s Ladbrokes APG Yearling Sale.
The pair are by Rock N Roll Heaven from dual Qbred Final winner Trend Setter.
