HRSA are delighted to announce that Brodie Webster and Jayden Brewin are the inaugural recipients of the HRSA scholarship program. In a strong field of candidates, Brodie and Jayden were outstanding applicants who have the ability, talent and motivation to pursue a successful career in harness racing.
Brodie Webster is 22 years of age and studying veterinary science at the University of Adelaide and is also a licenced harness racing driver. His aim is to complete his studies and pursue a career in harness racing as a trainer and veterinary surgeon. Brodie will undertake a placement with a leading trainer and equine veterinary surgeon during his scholarship year.
Jayden Brewin is 17 years of age and one of South Australia’s most promising young drivers. Jayden finished the season with 62 winners – 55 in SA and seven in Victoria, an incredible achievement for in his first full season of driving. During his scholarship year, Jayden will undertake a placement with a leading interstate stable to further enhance his driving credentials.
HRSA will also provide direct support to the following candidates:
- Kailey Piper (Port Pirie) – assistance with a placement to a Victorian Stable to develop her interest in training and driving;
- Webster & Bain Racing (Aaron Bain and Jake Webster) – assistance for website and marketing of their training services; and
- Kaide Stewart (Mt Gambier) – placement in Adelaide with a breeder to develop his interest in the breeding industry.
