HRSA WELCOMES NEW DIRECTORS
Harness Racing South Australia (HRSA) is pleased to announce the appointment of four new Directors to the Board. After an extensive and thorough selection process Carlo D’Ortenzio, Heath Pocock, Levi Mitchell and Sharon Cimarosti will join the Board, bringing with them extensive experience, enthusiasm, and qualifications.
Mr D’Ortenzio is the current Chief Operating Officer at the Adelaide Festival Centre Trust and has extensive financial, governance and administrative skills. He will fulfil the role of Financial Director on the Board, heading up the newly established Finance and Wagering Committee.
Coming from an equine background at Equestrian SA, Ms Cimarosti, will bring with her business and management skills as one of two Business Directors. The other Business Director, Mr Pocock, has a wealth of Board and committee experience having previously had involvement with many South Australian sporting organisations.
Finally, Mr Mitchell will fulfil the role of Legal Director, utilising his extensive corporate experience and knowledge. As part of his duties, he will head up the industry Risk and Governance committee – ensuring the highest standards and adherence to best practice.
The industry welcomes these new additions, who display a commitment to improving the industry and working collaboratively. The refresh of leadership roles in the industry will be accompanied with a focus for the Board of strategic development, growth, and initiatives.
In announcing the appointments HRSA Chair, Ms Emma Grigson stated,
“The appointment of new talent who are committed to the industry will allow the Board to refocus on strategic growth, development and support to the industry. Harness Racing holds a special place in South Australian sport and the ambition of this refreshed Board will be to realise our full potential.”
The concurrent appointment of an Acting/CEO, along with the re-establishment of the Industry Advisory Committee (IAC) and growth of BOTRA, will allow for simultaneous operational and strategic development.
“Carlo, Heath, Levi, and Sharon are highly respected and experienced. They have each expressed a desire to make a difference to the industry, will be of immense benefit to our team. I look forwards to working with them”, Ms Grigson said.
