A TRIP across the border is on the cards for promising youngster Hes All Torque.

Discussing plans for Hes All Torque following his success in Friday night’s Southern Cross Final at Globe Derby, trainer Ryan Hryhorec revealed he is considering a Victorian campaign with the two-year-old.

With the freshman eligible for the rich Vicbred Super Series, Hryhorec believes it is “worth giving it a shot”.

“I haven’t made a firm decision, but my heart says it is worth giving it a shot,” Hryhorec said. “He’s a pretty nice type which won’t disgrace himself.

“Naturally it is a step up in class, but if I can drive him quiet on the pegs for example he could make his way through the series.

“Even if he ends up in the Consolation is worth $25,000, which is great money.”

Brilliantly weaved through traffic by Dani Hill, Hes All Torque overcame a second row draw to score by a metre from his stablemate, Jamaican Rock.

Lethal Louie was two metres away third.

“After I copped a bit of stick in front with Jamaican Rock it left him vulnerable and Hes All Torque was always going to be the one to take advantage,” Hryhorec said.

“It was a top drive from Dani and she certainly got the best out of him.”

Rating 1:56.5 over 1800 metres, the son of Pet Rock took his record to four wins and three seconds from eight starts for earnings of $39,499 for owner Ian Corazzol.
