2After the win of The Trilogy at last night’s Narrogin meeting, Baldivis reinsman Ryan Warwick is just two wins short of the 1000 career wins milestone.

He presently has six drives at Gloucester Park tonight.

His current tally of 998 winners includes 362 for husband/wife training combination of Greg and Skye Bond since he joined the stable in February 2013.

In the 106 year history of trotting in Western Australia just 14 drivers have passed the 1000 wins milestone and Ryan Warwick will become the 15th joining a list headed by Chris Lewis, Colin Brown, Gary Hall Jnr, Fred R Kersley and Trevor Warwick (his uncle) who have each driven more than 2000 winners.

Warwick drove is first winner with Nerology at Northam on 20th September 2005. Nerology was trained by his father Colin Warwick who drove the 1982 Inter Dominion winner Rhetts Law.

Next month Ryan will attempt to create history by becoming just the second driver to join his father as an Inter Dominion winner.

NSW father son combination of Tony and Steve Turnbull won Inter Dominion finals with Hondo Grattan (1973 and 1974) and Smooth Satin in 2002.
