Reinsman Ryan Warwick entered a select list when the fourth of his quartet of winners at Gloucester Park last Friday night brought up his 500th winner in Perth.
For the record the horse was Better B Chevron and it makes Ryan just the 19th driver in 108 years of harness racing in Perth to pass the milestone and join Perth’s 500 Club.
The 500 Club was created in the eighties by the WA Trotting Association and Ryan becomes the third member of his family in this elite group.
His uncle Trevor Warwick and cousin Justin Warwick have each driven more than 500 winners in Perth and the Warwick clan have joined the Kersley family with three drivers in the list.
Ryan Warwick drove his first Perth winner with Nerology on 20th September 1995 for owner Dave Winter.
Nerology was trained by Ryan’s father Colin Warwick who is best remembered for his win with Rhett’s Law in the 1982 Perth Inter Dominion Final.
