New South Wales junior driver Will Rixon is edging closer to a career milestone.
The 21-year-old reinsman will head to Penrith tonight having driven 296 winners.
Rixon only has the one drive tonight at Penrith to grow his tally and reach 300 winners.
That is with the Rickie Alchin-trained Beefy Benson in race two.
Rixon has started this season consistently and has already driven 22 winners since the beginning of the year.
Last season Rixon drove 65 winners and even though it was one win off his personal best, being 66 winners, Rixon had a highlight year driving his first Group 1 winner.
That was with Father Bob in the Riverina Regional Final.
Heats for the 2022 Regional Championships will start at the beginning of May. They will take place in the Western, Hunter, Metropolitan and Riverina regions.
