Australian Pacing Gold has smashed all Australian sales records in amazing Day for Harness Racing yesterday on the Gold Coast.

In what will go down as one the greatest 5 minutes in Harness Racing when Lot 20 the Captain Crunch – Soul Sister – Presidential Ball Colt sold under the hammer for a record equaling  $100,000 to  local Queenslander Norm Jenkin.

Consigned by Goldenview and prepared by Megan Cockburn the stunning colt had the full attention of the extremely excited room.

When we spoke to Megan after the sale she had this to say “This is life changing result for us and we (along with my sister Kate)  are so please we made the decision to support the industry owned sales company that runs the first sale of the year. The team at APG should be congratulated  as should the other consignors and prepares”.

Lot 13 prepared by Somerset farms sold to Tara Butler for $82,500

Lot 4 Sold for $75,000 and will now be under Gemma Hewitt’s care.

Lot 28 the colt out of Bootleggin Beverly sold to Boots Properties for  $62,000.

Lot 36 was sold for $56,000.

With a current record sales average sitting at  $41,571 its clearly a sign buyers appreciated the way the yearlings were turned out.

When we spoke to Dean Baring last night he said “ It’s a great day for the sport here in Qld and it shows the value of presenting Qbred eligible horses, why anyone would buy horse in this state that’s not Qbred is lost on not me. It was also great to see the over following emotions of the team at Goldenview after the hammer dropped on Lot 20. It was truly incredible and all parties should be congratulated.  Having the first sale of the year in Australasia also supports those consignors looking for the big buyers. No sale is ever perfect and we still have some outstanding lots on offer for those looking to be apart of a massive $150,000 race series”.

Full sales results will be online shortly and the best contact for all enquiries on the remaining lots is Dean on  0459 215 333
