Despite the class and quality of the racing at Ashburton yesterday (Monday) there was just one ranking movement across both the Christchurch Casino NZ Trotting Cup and Haras des Trotteurs Dominion rankings.
Harriet Of Mot who took the race to her rivals in the Ashburton Trotters Flying Mile was game in defeat behind the imperious Monbet and as a result she has catapulted into the top 10, at number nine. At number 16 she was on the bubble but now looks assured of a Dominion run and rightly so after what was possibly one her best career performances to lead-up in a 1.55.2 mile.
There have been no withdrawals from either race in the last week so all eyes are now directed towards the Kaikoura and South Bay Trotters Cups for those 11th-hour qualifications.
The shadow Christchurch Casino NZ Trotting Cup field will be released following the Kaikoura race meeting next Monday evening.
