Albany breeder and all-time great man Harry Capararo, sadly died back on the 27th April 2019. Harry was one of those very astute breeders that just knew how to produce an outstanding race horse. The last time l checked he had bred more than 650 winners as an individual or in partnerships.
Remarkably, over 345 of Harry’s wins as a breeder came courtesy of the stallion he bred himself – Rich And Spoilt.
Thankfully Harry’s passion and more importantly the Adda prefix is set to continue for the years to come thanks to his son Peter.
While Peter had a more substantial interest in the thoroughbred game early on, Harry made it abundantly clear to Peter (before his very sad departure in 2019) that he expected the great Adda name should continue on through him.
For those that have had the privilege to know Peter, that old saying “the apple does not fall far from the tree” is so true.
From the day Peter stepped up to drive the good Adda name forward, he has been not only a very kind and positive friend, he has also displayed outstanding insights on breeding horses at an extremely high level.
While Harry was a true star in the west (after arriving from Sondrio as an eight year old boy back in 1953), and Peter is certainly building an outstanding record that his dad would be so proud of.
Peter has teamed up with one of WA’s best in Debra Lewis to prepare their lots and I strongly recommend adding these to the must see list.
