Saturday’s Group 3 Badcock Group of Companies Premier’s Cup headlines a stellar night of racing at Albion Park, as the UBET Queensland Winter Harness Racing continues to gather momentum.
Racing Queensland Harness Manager David Brick said all 10-races on the program, which gets under way at 5.03pm, looked enticing to punters.
“The Badcock Group Premier’s Cup, Egmont Park South East Oaks and Haras des Trotteurs Free For All, look to be particularly strong races, with some very good local and interstate horses set to go around,” he said.
“This should provide plenty of value for punters looking to back one of their favourite horses throughout the meeting.”
The Premier’s Cup will feature interstate visitors Ideal World, Thatswhatisaid, Duplicated and Tygar.
Queensland’s star three-year-old, Colt Thirty One, looks set to test himself in Open company, alongside the in-form Redcliffe-trained Slice Of Heaven.
Redcliffe Oaks winner Sociable steps out in the South East Oaks from barrier 2, with Mark Jones’ kiwi visitor Tres Vite set to trail her up from barrier 9.
The Haras des Trotteurs Free For All (Mobile Start) will have implications for the Queensland Trotters Cup at Albion Park on July 14.
Brad Connelly’s smart mare Needle will start from barrier 2, with Rickie Alchin-trained visitor Tough Monarch to start from barrier 6 and the evergreen Our Overanova gate 9.
