Sixteen-year-old Corey Peterson has bright prospects of landing his first city-class winner at Gloucester Park on Friday night when he drives smart five-year-old Harry Hoo for ace trainer Gary Hall Snr in the $20,000 TABtouch Interdominion Starts November 24 Pace.
He also has excellent prospects in an earlier race, the www.perthinterdominion.com.au Pace, in which he will drive stylish last-start winner Mcclinchie.
Harry Hoo, a winner at 12 of his 48 starts, drops in class and has the ability to overcome the disadvantage of starting out wide at barrier seven in the 2536m event.
He was tenth on the pegs at the bell before finishing strongly into sixth place behind Shandale over 2130m last Friday night. He led when running a splendid second to El Hombre two starts before that.
Harry Hoo, who has a losing sequence of nine, will clash with The Errol Ashcroft-trained mare Forever Remembered, who will start from the outside of the front line, but looks a realistic chance in this moderate company. She is capable of unwinding a spirited late burst, similar to her sparkling sprint which carried her to a thrilling victory over Maia Maguire and Foxy Dame three starts ago.
Mcclinchie impressed at his first start for Hall when he finished strongly from fifth at the bell to beat El Hombre and Messi over 2536m last Friday night. Mcclinchie will start from the No. 4 barrier on the front line, with El Hombre on the outside at barrier nine.
El Hombre, to be driven by Chris Lewis, was gallant in defeat behind Mcclinchie last week after racing in the breeze for most of the journey but gets a good chance to turn the tables this week.
