1. Driving and training milestones

What a week it’s been for Tim Williams. He reined home winner number 500 with Down To The Bone’s success at Addington on Friday night. The team of Logan Hollis and Shane Robertson also had a milestone of note, chalking up training success number 100 when Christianshavtime won at Auckland. They first started training together in 2008.

Amanda Telfer (who trains with her brother Steve) had her first New Zealand training success when Cloudy Bay also won at Auckland. Mimi E Coco was another winner for the combo later in the night.

2. Muscle Hill flexes at the Big M

The progeny of champion sire Muscle Hill dominated Hambletonian day with four winners, including one at huge odds, at the Meadowlands. Ramona Hill won the Hambletonian itself, with Sorella taking out the Oaks, Zenith Stride winning at 87-to-one in the Peter Haughton Memorial and When Dovescry taking out the Dr John Steele Memorial.

3. A trio of Terrys

Three-time New Zealand Cup champion Terror to Love has produced a lot of stock since his heroics on the track, some have hard “case” names. Regan Todd has trained Terry (Terror to Love – Carania) to one win from nine starts. He also has a three-year-old gelding with the same breeding, called Terry’s Brother and there’s another young filly named Terry’s Sister. All were bred by and are owned by G.F, M.M, and M.G.M. Case.

4. Level 2 for Kurow

The Kurow Harness Racing Club’s Sunday meeting at Oamaru will be the first to be held outside Auckland, Cambridge, Addington or Invercargill since the end of lockdown. The feature race, the Kurow Cup, is set to go at 3.29 under Level 2 conditions (public excluded).
