We had some great fun today looking at some theory’s on the chances of getting colts or fillies from semen that has to travel across the ditch.
Now when I first started doing the research on this I was going to put my left one on Fillies coming out way on top, well lucky for me, l didn’t have that bet.
American Ideal, that absolutely beautiful put together stallion from Woodlands Stud ( that is a real favourite of this writer ) won the battle with 56% of his Australian born offspring
being colts, this bloke never disappoints.
Mach Three ( Mr perfect as l like to call him ) came in second best of the 3 stallions reviewed, with his Australian born Colts coming in at 51.5%
Mcardle that truly under rated Gem from Nevele R hit 92/92 or 50% each ,again for Colts and fillies born on our soil.
However, here is some real interesting data
American Ideal has 1436 named horses of racing age and 9.18 % have won $100k or more
But let’s have a closer look, as the Judge always tells me, the devil is in the detail
Mares 7.98 % have won $100k or more
Geldings 16.50% have won $100k or more
Colts 7.54% have won $100k or more, without doubt, this one surprised me the most
Mach Three has 2345 named horses of a racing age and 12.71 % have won over $100k
Mares 10.54 % have won $100k or more
Geldings 22.83% have won $100k or more
Colts 8.54% have won $100k or more
Mcardle has 1436 Named horses of a racing age and 9.64 % have won over $100k
Mares 7.56 % have won over $100k
Geldings 16.43% have won over $100k
Colts 6.84% have won over $100k
So, this is how I read it, on these 3 very good sires.
Number 1. The colts are not doing the job in all three cases
Number 2. And no real surprise the geldings from these 3 stallions are simply great
Number 3. If you have a mare that suits Mcardle, get on the phone and call Michael Taylor because he is a under rated Gem in my view, $3,300 less discounts is crazy good
By the way it’s a massive THUMBS UP TO THESE 3 STALLIONS.
