Any concerns that the polar blast could threaten Methven’s bumper meeting on Sunday have eased.
Methven Trotting Club president Carl Markham reports that the area got a light cover of snow yesterday and overnight but nothing major.
“I was very relieved this morning,” he says, “come sunrise today the Mt Harding track is looking an absolute picture.”
“We couldn’t be happier with how things have panned out this week,” Markham says, “our track has come through in superb condition and we are anticipating fast and true racing conditions on Sunday.”
The day’s feature is the Group 3 Alabar Methven Cup which has drawn a superb field.
“But we are also excited by the full 12 race card,” says Markham, “with large even fields throughout the day we are looking forward to some exciting racing.”
Sunday’s 1st race is at 12.01 pm, with free entry and plenty of great picnic/bbq spots in the car-park which is BYO.
