Club Menangle track staff have been working tirelessly to run the postponed Miracle Mile tomorrow night.
After the $1million feature was called off last Saturday due to a severe storm that ravished the region moments before the scheduled time of the race, it has been a testing week according to Racing Manager David Wonson.
Flood levels rose around the track peaking on Tuesday.
“The water rose around the track but we also had six inches of water in through the stables and media studio,” said Wonson.
“We have been grading the track and fortunately horses have still been working on the outside of the track while we have been doing remedial works.
“Miracle Mile runners King Of Swing, Expensive Ego, Spirit Of St Louis and Mach Dan all worked on the track on Wednesday.
“We want to run trials to test out the track and timing system before Saturday night to make sure everything is in place.”
Club Menangle held five trials yesterday.
