Media Queen is set to rule in the $10,000 final of the Pinelea Farms/ Stunnin Cullen Sprint Seres Final at Forbury Park tonight.
Media Queen won the first heat of the 1200m series on November 19 from barrier six. She has the same draw in the final with Dexter Dunn again in the sulky.
Media Queen was beaten in her subsequent start at Invercargill but she has a preference for the 1000m Forbury Park track. The Cran Dalgety-trained mare had her other win at Forbury Park 12 months ago.
Live To Tell ran the fastest time of the three heat winners, 1.25.6 on November 6 when driven by Dunn. Live To Tell has only managed a fourth in four subsequent starts. Banora Boy won the heat last week in 1.25.7 for trainer –driver, Terry Chmiel.
He has a second line draw to overcome this time. Terry and Glenys Chmiel may have found the key to Banora Boy, who joined the stable late last season when Dave Anderson retired from training.
The Charging Moa and Royal Caroline, who have both finished second in heats, make most appeal of the others.
Quick As a Trick, last start winner of the Green Mile at Methven, has a c3-6 free-for-old in his sights on Friday night. Jessica Young is again in the sulky. Quick As a Trick has now won nine races and three of his wins have been at Forbury Park.
Better To Be Bad ran a big race for second last week in her first outing for six months. That indicated the 8yr-old mare was not yet a spent force.
Dunn and trainer Tony Barron who combined to win the corresponding race last week with Regal Ideal, have last start winner, McCovey Cove in contention.
