Menangle horseman Harry Martin is no stranger to winning big races.
The 81-year-old mentor has won the major Grand Circuit races on Australia’s eastern seaboard from the Miracle Mile, the Victoria Cup as well as the Queensland Winter Cup (Blacks A Fake Championship) and the discontinued Queensland Pacing Championship.
All of that success was with his quality pacer Double Identity.
Wind the clock forward almost two decades and Martin is chasing his next Group 1.
That is with his in form pacer Titian Raider in Saturday night’s Breeders Challenge Final at Menangle.
Titian Raider won his semi-final last Saturday and set a mile rate of 1:50 to become the fastest three-year-old in Australia this season.
The gelding has drawn barrier one for the $150,000 decider and heads into the feature having won his last six starts.
The iForm team have put together their best bets for today’s meetings:
Menangle best bet
Race 7: Triple Flour (6)
Kiwi import who has toyed with his rivals in two runs at Wagga and looks set for bigger and better things.
Menangle next best
Race 8: Pacman Hammer (5)
Failed last time but can lead again here and is well worth another chance.
Around the tracks
Leeton best bet
Race 4: The Mountain (3)
Draws to be on speed and just looks too classy.
Play the exotics
The Menangle quaddie
Race 5: 3
Race 6: 9,1,2,5
Race 7: 6,1
Race 8: 5,6,7,4
