RENOWNED for smashing records and reaching milestones, Kerryn Manning has once again reined in another magic moment.
As a member of the national Teal Pants Team, Manning had the honour of edging the fundraising total passed $100,000 with her victory behind Regal Major at Terang last night.
Money is raised for the Women’s Cancer Foundation – Ovarian Institute via each win by a reinswoman, with the various state governing bodies, along with corporate sponsors, donating a set amount per victory.
Beginning on February 1, the scheme, which has been conducted in Victoria and New South Wales for several years, went national this season thanks to help from Harness Racing Australia.
During the past five weeks Australia’s leading ladies have netted more than 250 wins!
Saturday night marks the end of the campaign, with gala functions being held at Tabcorp Park Melton and Albion Park.
The dinner events will include entertainment and further fundraising avenues such as Silent and Live Auctions, gift bags, guest speakers, raffles and fun competitions.
As a ‘heads up’, some of the auction items include a holiday package to Noosa, F1 Grand Prix experience, a box at an AFL game and a service to Majestic Son – so bring you wallets and purses!
