NEWCASTLE Mile winner Majordan’s first Miracle Mile will be his last.

Win, lose or draw on Saturday night, the Kevin Pizzuto-trained seven-year-old is headed to the US to continue his career.

He’s such an attractive option for the US given he’s a specialist sprinter and holds the Australasian record for sub-1min50sec wins at six.

US-based owners Marc Hanover and Gordon Banks recently sold a 50 per cent share in Majordan to North American investors Ned Hodkinson and Milton Leeman.

Majordan is headed for Virgil Morgan Jr’s stables in Ohio.

“He should pass the $500,000 in lifetime earnings this week and he’s been staked to $US2.5 million worth of top North American stakes races for 2020. We think he’ll suit North American racing to a tee,” Hanover said.

Majordan broke the race a track record with his last-start 1min50.7sec win in the Newcastle Mile.

Despite drawing the outside, he’s been backed from $14 into $11 with the Aussie TAB.

Regular driver Todd McCarthy elected to stick with Majordan instead of switching to last week’s sparkling winner Alta Orlando.
