ANTHONY Frisby is a third generation harness racing devotee who has embraced the sport, following in the footsteps of his grandfather Brian and father Chris.

At just 30-years of age, Anthony has achieved some amazing feats in the gig and last Wednesday at Bathurst the dual Group 1-winning reinsman notched up another career milestone by bringing up his 300th career win when successful aboard Our Sunset Delight, a smart three-year-old trained by his father and owned by their uncle Reg Morris.

The son of Art Major, who has now won four of his nine career starts, appears set for a good season after scoring with such ease last week, cruising to an ever-widening seven-metre margin,

He barely moved out of second gear in clocking a comfortable 1:58.4 over the 2260m journey.

“I would like every win to be that soft,” said Anthony.

“It was a nice way to bring up my 300-win milestone.

“Our Sunset Delight is a really smart horse, who has been impressive throughout his career to date and definitely has the best ahead of him, all going well.

“The horse is actually better driven with a cold sit.

“But last week I just felt that I needed to take luck out of the equation, and he won with so much ease.”

Frisby will make the trek to Parkes tonight where he has just one drive aboard lightly raced three-year-old Our Uncle Nev on a well-balanced eight-race program.

The gelded son of Sportswriter has drawn favourably in gate two for the Parkes Leagues Club 3yo Maiden Pace and Frisby has high hopes that his charge will be hard to beat.

“He is first-up from a long break, but we have been pleased with the four trials, we have given him,” said Frisby.

“Tonight’s race is only over the mile and he fared better in the draw than our main rival Rouseabout Raider, who is out in gate six.

“It is always better to be closer to the speed on the half-mile tracks so we will roll forward and hopefully he can take up a position near the lead.

“It is only a small field of eight and fitness should not be a problem with him having those relatively solid trials under his belt.”
