New South Wales’ champion reinsman Luke McCarthy is missing from today’s Menangle formguide as his Queensland campaign steps up a notch.
The 39-year-old horseman started his northern campaign on the right note at Albion Park last Saturday night winning two races.
He was successful with Mach Shard and stallion Jilliby Kung Fu.
The latter had only one race start in four years due to injury with his last start more than two years ago.
Jilliby Kung Fu stood at stud at Cobbitty Equine Farm while sidelined and rated a slick 1:53.5 seconds first up.
“It’s great to get that run out of the way,” McCarthy said.
“We’ve been so happy with him at home and he’ll head towards the big races up here.”
Meanwhile Mach Shard set a new track record at Albion Park winning the 2647m standing start in a rate of 1:56.5.
That is Mach Shard’s second track record in a month after his win at Riverina Paceway in April where he stopped the clock in 1:49.7.
The iForm best bets for today:

Race 6: Incognito (6)
Could have their measure following tidy performances at both appearances for the new stable.
Menangle next best
Race 3: Champagne Prince (8)
Improving square gaiter who makes his presence felt finding this easier than previous assignments.
Around the tracks
Young best bet
Race 2: Weona Sir Vivor (1)
Looks to have found the most suitable race this time in since his first up win. Hard to beat from the draw.
