Former New Zealand superstar Lazarus has made a spectacular start to his siring career in North America.
From his first crop of 92 foals, the young Bettor’s Delight stallion had 43 starters at the early baby qualifiers for 10 winners, including nine in 2:00 and seven in 1:58, according to the US Trotting Association’s statistics department on June 23.
Lazarus is expected to dominate the three $US30,000 Sires Stakes heats for New Jersey-bred two-year-olds at The Meadowlands on Friday night (8.20am Saturday Melbourne time).
