KTC Bloodstock 2023 Perth APG Sales Wrap.
What a great sale weekend it was for the team at KTC, firstly on Friday night at Gloucester Park we kicked things off with our Graduate Water Lou taking out the Listed $100,000 2YO Fillies final for Jim and Willie Giumelli -(Swandoo Harness Racing Pty Ltd Syndicate) trainer Mike Reed and Driver Gary Hall Jnr. This same breeder/owner/trainer/driver combination combined the previous year to also win the classic with Cabsav.
The next race we saw the $50,000 3YO Colts and Geldings line up this time it was another KTC Graduate in Lucapelo for Michael Young and American owners Marc Hanover and Gordon Banks and yet again jnr in the sulky taking the win in the feature. Cabsav then stepped out in the 3YO Fillies Classic finishing a very good 2nd.
We then headed to the sales complex first thing Saturday morning and had a very busy day of inspections leaving us full of confidence that Sunday would be a great selling day. And it didn’t disappoint. We unfortunately had Lot 100 the first horse in the ring that is never ideal and was unfortunately passed in the son of Always B Miki can still be purchased for $35,000 by contacting myself, Dad – Kevin or Dean at APG.
Things certainly heated up quick when our lot 105 a stunning Captain Crunch X Lavra Florence filly entered the ring and the bidding opened at $100,000 before been knocked down to the winning bid of Tom Erceg for $140,000 and will head to the powerful stables of Warwick Harness Racing. We are so pleased to see this filly enter a leading stable and be given every chance to be a star she is.
This sale now becomes our farms highest selling record and sits as equal second state record behind Greatgreat Boulder who was sold last year for $150,000 which knocked of our previous state record of $130,000. Our top priced colt was an absolute rockstar and he entered the ring as lot 162 a Always B Miki colt out of our very own Group 1 winning mare Tenniele Erin, he caught the eye of many and was knocked down to Jim and Willie Giumelli for $85,000. We couldn’t be happier to see him head there way. They are fantastic supporters of our product and have been rewarded with the likes of Cabsav, Lion Queen and Water Lou.
We are so pleased with the yearlings been well sought after and been brought by WA’s leading owners such as Tom Erceg, Jim and Willie Giumelli, Rob Tomlinson, Trotsynd, Albert Walmsley, Kevin Jeavons, Team Bond. And will now head to the states leading trainers such as Kat Warwick, Mike Reed, Dylan Egerton-Green, Justin Prentice, Ryan Bell, Brett Smith, Robbie Williams, Shane Young, Greg and Skye Bond and Ron Huston to name a few that I am aware.
Our very own stallions sold well with Control The Moment selling for a average of $45,000 (2 sold) with his top been lot 129 $55,000 and Foreclosure selling for a average of $30,214 (7 sold) with his top been lot 117 $46,000.
