Big money is again up for grabs in this year’s Kiwi Punters Championship.
Entering it’s third year of competition, the popular contests has undergone a slight makeover and been redubbed the Kiwi Punters Championship 3 – The Syndicate.
Run under much the same rules and conditions of the previous two years, punters are invited to enrol in one, or more, of the 12 heats up for offer in the lead up to New Zealand Trotting Cup week at Addington.
The winner of each heat will receive $2,000 cash on top of any their night’s earnings in the competition while they and the second and third placegetters will be given an automatic entry into the Grand Final at Addington’s Show Day races on November 11 where there is $80,000 up for grabs.
There is no entry fee payable to enter. Betting funds of $500 validate heat entry. To validate confirmation in the KPC Grand Final each team must deposit $5,000 in betting funds.
There are seven KPC Heats at Addington Raceway, three at Alexandra Park and one each at the Northern Tavern, Invercargill and the TAB Head Office in Petone.
Syndicates are being welcomed into the fold this year and are not restricted to any particular number of individuals although only six tickets will be made available to each entry at the Grand Final.
The winning team of the Grand Final will receive $50,000 with second collecting $20,000 and third $10,000 as well as any profit from their investing during the day.
The first heat is being held at Addington tonight (Friday September 2) and entries for each event must be registered by 12pm on the day of the heat.
Heats are being held at the following venues: Friday 2 September: Addington Raceway, Friday 9 September: Addington Raceway, Sunday 11 September: Northern Tavern, Invercargill (Oamaru Harness), Friday 16 September: Alexandra Park, Friday 16 September: Petone, Wellington (Alexandra Park Harness), Friday 23 September: Addington Raceway, Thursday 29 September: Addington Raceway, Friday 30 September: Alexandra Park, Friday 7 October: Addington Raceway, Friday 14 October: Addington Raceway, Friday 14 October: Alexandra Park, Friday 21 October: Addington Raceway.
