4CONNECTIONS of promising youngster King Solomon are planning an interstate trip.

Successful at two of his three starts since crossing the Tasman, including Melton last week, King Solomon has earned a shot at the South Australia Derby.

The time honoured event is scheduled to be conducted on January 7 – Pacing Cup night.

King Solomon will be part of a strong team trainer Brent Lilley plans to cross the border with for the sensational card.

Along with the son of Bettors Delight, Lilley has taken aim at the Cup with Messini and the Trotters’ Cup with Zedalite.

“I’m looking forward to getting over to Globe Derby for the Cup meeting,” Lilley said. “I’ll be taken a few across and hopefully can have a good night.

“Zedalite has finished second in the Cup the past two years, so we’re thinking it has to be third time lucky for him.

“King Solomon is a pretty nice type and Derby will give us a good indication of where he is at.”
