The biggest week of the year for the Kidz Kartz drivers and ponies kicked off today with the 2015 Templeton Medical Kidz Kartz NZ Trotting Cup Prelude.
Fourteen hopefuls lined up on the grass at Riccarton Park, including three sets of siblings, to compete for the title.
Kerryn Tomlinson from Canterbury, the two time winning Kidz Kartz NZ Trotting Cup Champion, grabbed the win with a brilliant drive on her talented pony Boost; with this being Boost’s first year competing on the big stage.
Second place went to Danielle Macfarlane and her pony Harry; making the trip down from Franklin and the ever consistent Ricki claimed Third spot with Taylor Pereira, also from the North.
With all of the ponies impeccably turned out it was Sarah O’Reilly and Gen from Mid-Canterbury who took away the sash for Best Presented.
The Granite Benchtop Company Kidz Kartz NZ Trotting Cup will be held at Addington Raceway this Friday the 13th after the fifth race.
